Welcome to the North Herts section of the Forty Plus Cycling Club. We are based in Letchworth Garden City and ride in North Hertfordshire, Central Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. The distance covered on our Thursday rides is approximately 30 to 40 miles. Our group is of mixed experience and ability, so all are welcome. We generally meet at 10:30 on a Thursday for a ride to lunch at a pub or café / tearoom. We meet at the Fountain in Broadway Gardens, Letchworth.

We cycle all year round, weather permitting, on both Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our Tuesday rides are in most cases are longer than the Thursday rides and only advertised via email. If you would like to be put on the email list, contact Geoff or Alan.

If you would like to try out two or three of our rides, to see if they are for you, please contact Geoff or Alan before the day of the ride, so that we expect you.

Our site also contains a list of pubs we use, showing their OS grid references.

There are some archive photos to browse through and a list of local links you may find useful or see our Facebook Page where we sometimes give a brief report on our rides and photos when available. Our Facebook page is a closed group, you need to join to see our posts. You can also follow us on Twitter at North Herts Forty Plus

One of the benefits of joining Forty Plus cycle club is that you can go on any of the rides organised by any of the sections.

There is an opportunity to travel down by train to join the East Herts, or St Albans sections on a Tuesday, riding with them to lunch and then heading back to Letchworth.

We also support the Letchworth Arts & Leisure Group, (LALG) cycling group the “Garden City Wheelers” on the third Thursday of each month. This ride is aimed at beginners or cyclists who haven’t ridden for a while. Please see the LALG monthly newsletter or their website for further information or click Garden City Wheelers
