It being remarkably warm for the time of year, I was able to ride over to LGC for today’s start, where I met Richard, Derek, Martin, Geoff H and John D, and we were soon joined en route first by John H and then Andy S. Bedford Paul overtook us on Lilley Bottom, clearly determined to get to the pub first!
But as they don’t open till 12, he was still outside when we arrived, still a few minutes early, as it’s quite a short ride.
Andy didn’t stop but numbers were further boosted by Geoff P and Mick, who rode out independently, and Alan also popped in later, though he drove over.
We split into 2 groups for the return, with John H leading the smaller group (thank you John) on the direct route back to LGC, and the remainder going via Hexton and Shillington.
The out and back group covered 27 miles at about 12 mph, with those on the circular route covering about 30 miles at about 13 mph.
