As the morning was forecast to be cold and misty, I had arranged to meet the group at Arlesey. As it turned out, the ‘group’ consisted of me, Alan, Nige and Mia.
We decided early on to cut the ride short as it was such a miserable day, with intermittent drizzle as well as the cold and mist to deal with. We followed the planned route as far as Haynes West End then cut across to Maulden, picking up the return route between Ampthill and Clophill.
Unfortunately, our colleague Ronnie set out late to meet us at the Forest centre but had some bad luck with Two punctures – Sorry Ronnie.
We visited Discolicious as an alternative venue for our lunch stop, and, though busy, they provided us with some welcome respite and good food.
Fortunately, it was not too far home for any of us!
Today’s ride was about 36 miles with an average pace of just over 14mph
