Cold and windy at the start, and the five that initially set off (myself, Andy S, Stuart, John D and Mia) thought it would be a low turn-out today, but we were soon joined first by Alan, then John H, Nige and Jack, making nine on the road.
It’s only a short though hilly ride out to Mangrove Green, so in spite of trying my best to delay us we still arrived well before midday! Andy and Nige didn’t stop but we were soon joined by Bedford Paul, Mick and Geoff, so we were ten for lunch.
Tasty food was served up in quick time, and we were ready to get back on the road by 12:45, which given the forecast was probably just as well!
The wind had really got up, and after leaving the rest of the group on Lilley Bottom John D and I were blown home via Hexton at a fair rate.
From LGC and return was 23 miles (est.) at about 11.5 mph
