A better turn-out today than Tuesday, with eight at the fountain and five more joining at various points, making thirteen in total; not bad for what was a bit of a dreary start to the day, but the weather picked up through the day, and by lunch it was sunny and pleasantly warm.
We set off in two groups, just myself, Mia and Steve C in the first group, and Geoff P leading Stuart, Angie, John H and Sheila.
We met Jack and Andy S at the Holwell turn, and at Poplars we were met by Paul W (Beds group), Mick and Alan.
I can’t imagine we will be able to take lunch outside much longer; it was too good an opportunity to miss.
For the return, Andy and Alan headed off first by the direct route back to Hitchin and for the rest of us, I think we scattered to the four winds, with myself, Mia and Jack taking an extended route back,
Mick, Paul and Steve making their own ways, leaving Geoff, Stuart, Sheila and John to retrace their route back to LGC,
Angie not having come on to lunch.
Another lovely autumn day out.
