A mere three of us left the fountain today; must be holiday season…So Adrian, Lorraine and Jack set off into the wind and meeting up with Alan at Ickleford.
The route out was via Shillington, Barton, Harlington, Toddington and Milton Bryan with a head-wind – strong at times and hot with it, making the ride out hard going. However we made good time, arriving at lunch not much after 12:30.A new venue, The Flying Fox was very accommodating, with a garden where we managed to find a spot away from the noise of the A5!
Alan as usual set off after a quick snack, returning “wind assisted” via the A5 and Sundon road through Streatley then straight to Hitchin, leaving the three of us for the return, with a hefty tail-wind most of the way, which was most welcome.
