The first day of the Jubilee extended weekend saw 10 riders gather at the fountain, with Geoff P leading Group 1 – Stuart, Steve and Kevin, and Adrian leading group 2 – Mia, Geoff H, John D, Kris and me . We paused at Great Wymondley to collect Nige, who joined group 2 and John H, who tagged on with Geoff.
That was the last we saw of Geoff’s group till we got to the pub, though we must’ve crossed paths a couple of times, arriving within a few minutes of each other. We were joined by Paul Wareham, and the first time for ages, Anne who drove out to meet us; great to see you Anne!
We all crammed into the back room somehow, and were all fed and watered in fairly good time in spite of the usual slow ordering process… Back on the road at about 1:15, we continued as a single group via Hexton, with Geoff leaving us at the Streatley turn, and eventually we split to go our separate ways at Holwell or thereabouts.
A fine day, there was some very warm sunshine at times.
