The first Extra Mile ride on Friday took us to Turville, also known as Dibley in the TV series “The Vicar of Dibley”. This car assist ride organised by Deb and Martin started and finished in Wendover at the excellent Rumsey’s Chocolaterie. The ride through the beautiful Chilterns countryside included three tough climbs (2800 ft of elevation) and 51 miles over Bucks less than perfect (!) road surfaces. We also found a new cycling pub, The Spire and Spoke in Watlington, and greatly enjoyed their coffee and cake after our exertions on those hills. A great day out and a good start for our new ‘Extra Mile’ Friday ride series.
